The Village of the Year presentation in the school hall on 3 April. On 23 April we heard that we’ve won the Southern Area! James Hellem completed the Marathon des Sables in the Sahara, 151 miles, six gruelling days raising money for cancer research. A music night in the Calleva added over £150 to his total. Talent night at Silchester School - the annual showcase for our youngsters lived up to expectations, a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thanks to Jon Saltmarsh who took the pictures. Silchester Magazine celebrated its 50th birthday with a gathering of both current and past team-members, some travelling long distances to be with us - have a look and see who you can recognise from the past. The re-birth of the village market continues to attract both stalls and customers - March saw the second of what is planned as a monthly event in the Village Hall.
